Pistons’ Greg Monroe ready for a breakout year

Who says that the NBA isn’t a big man’s league anymore? Sure the league is no longer filled with the 20-10 big men that used to own the hardwood but there are still plenty of good centers in the league today and the Detroit Pistons’ Greg Monroe is one of them.

Van Gundy’s out: Does Patrick Ewing get a shot to coach Orlando?

It’s probably not likely but the question needed to be asked. Now that the Orlando Magic have parted ways with head coach Stan Van Gundy, will assistant coach Patrick Ewing get a chance to take over the team?

Ewing has long sought a chance to prove his coaching abilities with a team in the league but with the Magic still trying to woo center Dwight Howard into signing a long-term contract, expect them to seek a more high-profile coaching hire.

Patrick Ewing and the Bobcats are a bad fit

Charlotte Bobcats’ owner Michael Jordan is interviewing Patrick Ewing for the Bobcats’ head coaching position? Say it ain’t so Patrick! I know Ewing wants to coach but even he shouldn’t be desperate enough to want that job.

But if Jordan does offer Ewing the job and he takes it, I hope he knows what he’s getting into. There is very little talent on this team and there isn’t a single player in this draft that could single-handedly turn a franchise around.

Patrick Ewing to coach the New York Knicks?

Although interim head coach Mike Woodson seems to be doing a good job with the New York Knicks, he is not a lock to be their head coach next season. If the Knicks do decide to go another direction next year though, there is an ex-Knick who would love a shot at the job; former Knicks’ center Patrick Ewing.
