Depleted frontcourt hinders Atlanta Hawks' playoff outlook

The Atlanta Hawks are once again eyeing the fifth slot in the NBA playoffs. The Hawks have advanced to the second round of the playoffs the past three seasons but they may have a problem making it four in a row with all of the injuries they have sustained to their frontcourt.

Atlanta has been without its best frontcourt player center Al Horford all season due to a pectoral strain he suffered in their 11^th game of the year. Although they were hoping he would be ready to play at least by the start of the playoffs that doesn’t look to be the case.

No Horford, No Problem for Hawks

Losing an All-Star center usually spells doom for a team that considers itself a championship contender but the Atlanta Hawks have gone 5-1 since losing center Al Horford to a torn pectoral muscle injury over a week ago. While this is a promising start there are still a lot of games left to play this season.

Atlanta Hawks’ Reserves Pivotal in 106-70 Win Over Nets

Newark, NJ - After getting out to a huge lead in the first quarter, the Atlanta Hawks got to show off some of their new additions in what ended up being a 36-point blowout of the New Jersey Nets. Starters Jeff Teague and Marvin Williams set the pace early but it was the reserves who continued to pound it on the Nets and stretch the Hawks’ lead.
