Could Texas teams be LeBron James’ kryptonite?


Two NBA Finals appearances for Lebron James. Two losses. What is the common thread linking both of these losses together? Both teams were from Texas.

James joined the Miami Heat during the 2010-2011 season with one goal in mind and that was to win the championship that had eluded him up to that point in his career.

Lamar Odom eyeing the Knicks


New York-native Lamar Odom has decided he wants to add his hometown team the New York Knicks to the list of basketball cities he has called home during his NBA career.

Odom still has one year left to his contract with the Dallas Mavericks at $8.2 million but a team has up to June 29 to buy him out at $2.4 million if they don’t want to pay the whole sum.

Homebound: Mavericks reload with Deron Williams, Chris Bosh this summer?


The Dallas Mavericks will have a lot of money to throw at free agents this summer, too bad there won’t be much to choose from. They may still be able to acquire some decent talent though with two players looking to reunite with their Dallas roots.

Deron Williams hasn’t been shy about his affinity for his home state of Texas. Williams was a star athlete at The Colony High School which is in the Dallas area and would be a major upgrade over the aging Jason Kidd.

Seeing the Oklahoma City Thunder sitting atop the West is not much of a surprise. The Thunder are a young and talented team that made it all the way to the Western Conference Finals last season. What is surprising is the teams that are currently sitting in the next few spots in the Western Conference standings.
